Finding out you're pregnant brings a lot of questions. Here's what usually happens at your first antenatal appointment so you can walk in feeling prepared.
Confirming and dating the pregnancy
We'll review your history, confirm the pregnancy and usually do an early ultrasound to estimate your due date and check that everything is developing in the right place.
Baseline checks
Expect blood pressure, weight and a set of routine blood tests (blood group, iron, immunity, blood sugar and more). These give us a baseline for the months ahead.
Your plan and your questions
We'll map out your schedule of visits and scans, talk through nutrition, supplements and what's safe, and answer anything on your mind — bring a list. Ask about our complete antenatal package, which bundles your visits and scans into one price.
When to call sooner
We'll tell you exactly which symptoms mean 'call us now' versus 'mention it next visit', so you're never left guessing.
